Sarah had been looking on the Internet for “four door hatchback” and “five door car“… and didn’t really like what she was finding. That is, until she saw the Honda Fit. (Here’s the official Honda Fit web site.)

She really likes all the fun things you can do with the seats, and fuel economy is important to us as well. It doesn’t come out in the United States until later this year (apparently it’s called the Jazz in Europe). Popular Science’s March 2006 issue mentions that it’s popular with tuners, and there’s an active community at fitfreak.net.

We figured by the time we were ready to buy a new car in a few years, the first model years sold here in the U.S. would be cheap enough for us to buy one. Sarah is very excited about this car. She said jokingly, “Either I’m going to have a Fit, or I’m going to have a fit!” (Meaning, either I’m going to get that car, or I’m going to have a tantrum.)
